They always told us in clinical to do an abdominal SQ injection at least 1 inch away from the umbilicus, but they never explained why:

Also, I was always nervous about dorsal gluteal injections until I saw this video.

Mission Statement

We are the Spring 2015 RN completion class at HPVC, and we hope this blog will become a resource for current students in both the LPN and RN program. We will cover subjects from basic algebra to critical care, study tips, test prep tips, and licensing information.
